Bars
Spent a few days in San Juan, La Union which is roughly a 5 hours bus trip away from Angeles City. Visited the small bars in Bauang the first night and had quite some fun there. Reminded me of AC 5 or 6 years ago with a very relaxed atmosphere and girls not being shy at all. Actually I enjoyed the small bar scene there even more than Subic during my last visit. Pretty much laid back with cheap drink prices and bodyguard fees. There were only like 4 or 5 bars so it didn`t take that long to have a drink in each one of them. I`d say that Cheerleader`s was my fave with quite a decent lineup. Make sure you visit the bar if you make it to Bauang one day. Good fun.
Beaches
From what I saw in La Union, beaches don`t appear to win any prize for world`s finest seaside. Far from being the next Boracay with rather dark sand and big waves coming in. Don`t wanna sound negative about it, it`s still a lot of fun, only a different feeling. Urbitztondo is the place to go if you are a surfer with many youngsters around and a few hotels and bars right on the beach. It`s a nice place to hang out for an afternoon before heading back to San Fernando or Bauang for the nightlife which seems nonexistant in Urbitztondo itself.

Hi mike. I really like your site. Your pictures and the way you write about your travel is awesome. I’ve been to Buang and you’re right, the atmosphere is nice and relax. The girls are cute and friendly. I think most of us Sykos would love to live in the peens like you do. You’re one of the guys that inspired us to start Sykoplayground. Hey, sorry we borrowed some of your pix when we were starting the site. Anyway, i look forward to hearing more about your travels to the peens. I’m going there in January.
